Anxiety: What is it and how is it treated?
Our therapists provide effective treatments for mild anxiety, utilizing cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness techniques. We aim to help you manage symptoms and improve your overall well-being.
Anxiety is a normal response to a stressful situation such as public speaking, taking tests, or making difficult life changing decisions. This may cause you to become agitated or feel restless. Physical changes noted include sweating, increased heart rate, increased breathing, and nausea. When anxiety becomes extreme, overwhelming, and interrupts your ability to engage in activities of daily living every day for 6 months, it is considered an anxiety disorder.
Services offered at Abba’s Hands, for the treatment of anxiety include medications such as SSRIs (Paroxetine, Escitalopram, sertraline, etc.), Beta blocker (Propranolol), 2A-adrenergic agonist (Clonodine), and Antihistamine (Hydroxyzine); group therapy; and educational support. Our team will collaborate with you to create a treatment plan that meets your unique needs.
